IP Scanner Home App Reviews
After trying free version, which reports six devices, I immediately upgraded to the home version which reports all 13 devices on my network. The application works extremely well and is very useful. Please note that if the application is opened from the application folder rather than automatically, you will need to start it running using the button at the lower right-hand corner of the window.
ip scanner product
I think this is a great product. Makes finding your IP addresses for someone like me easy.
update 3.50.6 broken
Update 3.50.6 immediately crashes! Please fix.
It locks up, freezes, crashes, and stops taking input constantly. I got it to scan my network once and that was about all I got out of it. I’m gettig my money back unless they can may this terrible software work on El Capitan. (I assume it works on other MacOS versions, but I have know way of knowing.)
Good stuff right price...
It works as advertised and is cheap for this sort of utility.
Everytime theres an new update pushed out, I update it through the app store and then go to open it and it give me a message saying that the program is broken and needs to be redownloaded. Kind of annoying. Otherwise good, but distribution is part of the app and thats why I gave it 3 stars.
Excellent app for finding the entrails of your networking. And finding those that should not be on the network. Gives I.P. Address as well as Mac and when was it last seen. Config port scans, pings and wake on lag. Icons for what device are on the network so u know at a glance what type of device is there. All in all for me it is a good app.
Latest version crashes om my MacAirBook
I found the utility useful until the latest version now its a brick.
Simple and Powerful
The free version met my needs but I upgraded just to support the product. Highly recommended!!
graduated from iphone/ipad version to mac version: need to license to one person rather than every type of Apple device; notify in Growl - i turned on sound alert and when I turned it back off sound did not go away. Had to remove from Growl application list. Nest run reinserted ipScanner with no sound (whew - it was a 25 minute song!); latest version has lots of niceties...
I had been looking around for something like this. Now I can see what is connected to my LAN and more importantly what isnt. Great for determining if something has dropped off the network. Also good for seeing if unauthorized computers are connected.
non-functional
Quits immediately upon launch, refund requested
Use it all the time.
This app is great. Fast, quick, and no problems at all detecting devices on the network.
If you are a network admin you may prefer a more robust tool, but for a simple scan, this app gives you a quick accurate overview of whats on your network (wired and wireless). You can even give custom names for the devices it doesnt identify correctly (i.e. iPhone, printers, TV, storage, router, etc.), so it makes for an excellent troubleshooting tool the will save you time for sure. It even gives you trick little icons for each device. It also gives you the MAC address when it can. If youre looking for a simple, lightweight, easy to use app, this is the one. Definitely a must have for administering your networks. Make sure to get the version that supports the number of devices you have. I have 14 so I got the pro version and Im very happy with it. Overall, probably the best bang for the buck from any app that Ive purchased.
Love it!!!
Love the app!!!
A Handy Tool
It works very well and is a handy tool for keeping track of your network usage, and helping out others on theirs.
Only supports a limited number of scans - stay away
Only supports a limited number of scans…forces you to upgrade to the full product. stay away
IP Scan
It does not work at all and there is no instructions to tell you how to use it. I threw away 4.99 on this ap.. dont buy it!!!
Home Version, used on an Airport Extream network that utilizes an Airport Express to extend the range of the network. There are 11 devices and the printer is attached directly to the Airport Exstream. I tried two similar products. For perspective, I gave the othe application 3 stars. It did not catalog the Airport Extream and could not identify the device or the manufacturer of two iPhones. In addition, the ability to document/name devices did not work consistently. (It did in one case and not in another.) Finally, it seemed to freeze briefly and need to be shout down using the quit functionality. I liked the interface. I would wait for the next release.
Ha Ha Ha Ha. Cannot see/discover some devices on my LAN. Entered all the ranges of IP addressed for Base network and Guest network. Must add IP _and_ MAC addresses listed in Airport Utility which were missed by this App; on the self same scanned network! Bogus! hahahahahahahaha. Waste of money. Hahahahahahahah .
