IP Scanner Home App Reviews

I frequently change networks and sometimes I need to access some of my devices over LAN or Wi-Fi. This way I always see which IP to use. Makes things much easier. It it also helpful for shared connections because it allows you to see who is online and therefore you realize why the connection is so slow ;-)

Program does exactly what it is supposed to do, is fast and generally can figure out what is on the other side of the line. For a geek like me with a load of devices at home it is indespensable. The iPad version is great too

Great program for discovering the MAC Addresses of all the devices on your network so you can properly forward ports.

I use this app all the time to assess access to my open WiFi network. We have a WiFi base station which feeds our ethernet home network as well as two WiFi WAPs. One of these WAPs (which is left open) services my wifes small cottage. The cottage is rented out for short term stays. I use IP Scanner to monitoring use of this open WAP and also monitor use of our home network. I can ID MAC addresses and ID IP addresses for each of our devices. It is a great product and I hope the developers continue to add features to it. Keep up the good work.

Easy to use. Provided vital info of my network.

I use this quite often when deploying and managing systems at work. The "Home" version was enough, but now I need the Pro version. Id give this baby 5 stars if there was a "Home" to "Pro" upgrade path.

While the developer claims that this app will support 21 “devices” this is only true for very simple networks. In fact, the app will display 21 IP addresses but 1 IP address may not be equal to one device. For example, the combination of iPhone plugged into a MacBook (two devices) may use 5 IP addresses. So much for truth in advertising. A second problem with app is that it does not reliably detect static addresses. In my case, 2 IP Phones that are always active were only detected occasionally until I set them to use DHCP. When I looked at the support FAQ on the developer website I see that this was a issue in 2011 as well so I assume it has never been resolved

When I start the app, it runs for 30 secs and then closes and asks to be Reopened, Ignored or Report the failure, each time, even after a reboot.

Having about ten items sharing IP addresses in my home office, I was often faced with IP conflicts. This app cannot remove the conflicts but alerts me the the specific device causing the bottleneck.

With ipscanner Home, I was able to see all of my devices, access points and bridges on a moments notice, as well as see if anyone had managed to break into my network. Excellent product and highly recommended!

I purchased the home version because there are at least 10 devices on my network. I like the features of IP Scanner, the ability to access a network device from IP Scanner’s window is of great value to me. I can also see if someone is trying to poach my network.

I have lots of devices on my network and this little app is really helpful when you need to browse IP addresses for one reason or another. I find myself using it a lot.

This app does not work a waste of money

AFTER UPDATING, The app is not able to recognize the MAC ADDRESS of any single device, anymore. So, it is a DISASTER, because icons and identity of each device is assigned randomly. It means the utility fo the app is reduced to a small 30% than it was before. REALLY BAD! NOW PROBLEM SOLVED. Thank you!
